GENERAL

What ages do you treat?

We treat infants, children, and adults across the lifespan—from newborn feeding difficulties to adult TMJ and sleep-disordered breathing.

Do you take insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider. A superbill is provided upon request for you to submit to your insurance. A physician script may be required for reimbursement (e.g., for speech, feeding, swallowing, or myofunctional therapy).

What’s the difference between an evaluation and a therapy session?

An evaluation includes a detailed assessment, clinical impressions, and a written plan of care. Many evaluations include the first therapy session. Ongoing therapy sessions focus on active treatment and parent training based on your child’s needs.

FEEDING & INFANTS

What if I’m concerned about a tongue tie?

Concerns about tongue or lip ties are very common. Melissa performs a functional tethered oral tissue (TOTS) assessment as part of the initial evaluation when feeding, breathing, or oral function is impacted. If a release is recommended, she will coordinate directly with your release provider.

Do you help with weaning or starting solids?

Yes! Melissa supports families with weaning from breast or bottle, transitioning to solids, and managing gagging, refusal, or texture sensitivities. Evaluations include a full oral motor, sensory, and postural assessment to ensure readiness.

Do parents stay during feeding therapy?

Absolutely. Parents and caregivers are active participants in every session. You’ll receive hands-on training and a personalized home program after each visit.

MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY & AIRWAY

What is myofunctional therapy?

Myofunctional therapy targets oral muscle function—including the tongue, lips, and jaw—to improve breathing, chewing, swallowing, and speech. It’s often used for mouth breathing, tongue thrust, snoring, or sleep-disordered breathing.

Do you work with dentists and ENTs?

Yes! Melissa regularly collaborates with airway dentists, orthodontists, ENTs, IBCLCs, pediatricians, and chiropractors as part of your care team.
